PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. – Summer is just around the corner and Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) will, once again, offer multi-day meal boxes for families in the county. Along with PCSSD, several local organizations including the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) and North Little Rock Public Library System (NLRPLS) will provide meals this summer.
PCSSD will have two pick up locations this summer for families with children ages 18 and younger to receive a five-day meal box. One location is located at Mills University Studies High School ( 708 E. Dixon Road in Little Rock) and the second location is located at Cato Elementary (9906 Jacksonville-Cato Road in Sherwood). The meal distribution will take place every Thursday from 7 am until 10 am (or until supplies run out) from June 12 through July 31, 2025.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like PCSSD to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
In addition to PCSSD summer meals, CALS will provide meals through Be Mighty Little Rock, a citywide campaign to connect kids and teens 18 and under to free meals. Summer meals will be offered at several CALS branches, as well as other locations throughout Little Rock. Various activities are offered at meal sites to help children learn and stay active. Activities may include reading or exercise programs, cooking classes and games, among others. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of this free and much-needed resource for their children. The goal is for every kid and teen in Little Rock to have the resources needed to Be Mighty.
The North Little Rock Library System will also be offering free meals for kids under 18 this summer starting June 2 through July 31, 2025. Lunch will be served between 12-1 p.m. and all meals must be consumed on site. Food will also be distributed for all ages on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Laman Library Auditorium through Arkansas Community Advocates.
