Let's get fired up for testing!!! Maumelle High school is proud to be the host of the first ever ACT Aspire Maumelle feeder pep rally! Students who will be taking the ACT Aspire next week are invited to Maumelle High on Friday, April 22 at 1pm for a pep rally to get hyped up for the upcoming test. We invite families to attend as well. We'll have special guests and performances during this one hour event.

Big things are happening for Maumelle High cheerleaders! We have two exciting shout outs:
Courtney Blackwell, a senior DRIVEN student, was presented with a $2,500 academic and service scholarship. Courtney plans to attend UAPB in the fall. This is only the second time that a scholar from Maumelle has received this award!
Another big congrats goes out to senior Ryno Stevenson! On Monday (4/18/22) she signed with A-State Red Wolves to continue her education and cheer for the Red Wolves. Wolves up, Ryno!

PCSSD is excited to announce our 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year winners for each school! These amazing educators went above and beyond for their students this year. Congratulations to David White from MAUMELLE HIGH! #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

9 PCSSD high school students attended the Little Rock Regional Chamber's Cultivate Women's Business Series - Building Up STEAM. In a world where women have more opportunities than ever before, they remain underrepresented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Special thanks to Dassault Falcon for sponsoring the Academies of Central Arkansas table at the event, allowing these girls to attend. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

Good Friday is the day Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Three days later he would be resurrected from the dead.

The tax deadline is Monday, April 18, so there are still a few days to submit individual income tax returns to the federal government.

Passover celebrates the exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The Passover Seder is one of the most widely observed rituals in Judaism.

In 2022, Chick-fil-A will award more than $23 million in Remarkable Futures Scholarships to help pay for team members' education. Congratulations to MAUMELLE HIGH students Stephan Boland and Avery Champion who were selected to receive a scholarship!
Through the scholarships, Chick-fil-A is investing in team members' futures and encouraging them to follow their dreams, inside and outside the restaurant.

Just a reminder - there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 15. The schools are closed for teacher professional development. However, District offices will be open with regular business hours on Friday. Enjoy the weekend!

WEATHER UPDATE:
The severe weather threat looks to have moved out of the Pulaski County area. Therefore, we will dismiss secondary schools at regular time. Thank you for your patience today.

WEATHER UPDATE:
Based on the latest weather updates, radar indicates that we will be able to release elementary students on time at 2:45pm. We will have update on dismissal for secondary students soon.

PCSSD is monitoring the severe weather as it moves across the state this afternoon. In order to keep our students and staff safe, we will delay dismissal until severe threats pass through Pulaski County. Students and staff will remain in the safe areas inside the building. If a parent wishes to pick up their child, you must do so before a tornado warning is in place. Once students and staff are in shelter, we cannot release them until the warning expires. We will update you as the weather changes and its impact on dismissal time.

Today is Golfer's Day and we want to give a big shout out to our PCSSD boys and girls golf teams. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence
