Celebrating and highlighting our MMS TEAM and SCHOLARS was a great success during our Open House!
We were able to highlight ELA, Science, Math, Social Studies, Reading, Art, AVID, GEAR-UP, Robotics, Medical Detectives, FCCLA, ESL, AR AIMS, and MORE!
Incoming scholars and current scholars were able to view our school, socialize with friends, and learn new faces through engaging, dancing, and talking!

Mills Middle School Black History Month Spotlight: Ms. Samone Vail, 8th grade ELA teacher!
Ms. Vail has been in education since 2019.
Some things she does outside of the classroom is spend time with her son, record in her journal, and read! She also is the CEO of Power2Empower- a faith based transitional program for high school seniors going to college.
Her inspiration for education comes from her 7th grade teacher, Ms. Felton; and her 12th grade teacher Ms. Minnis because they were very passionate with helping scholars in and outside of the classroom.
A famous African American who is an inspiration to her is Dr. Brenda Caldwell because she walks BOLDLY in her God Given Purpose!
We love and appreciate everything you do for your colleagues and scholars here at MMS!

Mills Middle School Black History Month Spotlight:
Mrs. Chantyana Jackson, math and algebra teacher here at MMS!
Mrs. Jackson has been in education for 4 years. Some things that she does outside of the classroom are arts and crafts; from crocheting to drawing, she loves it all!
Her love for math and helping people learn inspired her to be a part of education. An influential African American who inspires her is her mother because she constantly reminds her to PERSEVERE!
